Harrison Bergeron

Genre: Screamo
For Fans Of: Seeing Means More, Textbook Traitors, Swing Kids, Storm the Bastille
A ton of other blogs have done a post on this band. It’s probably because this band put out some of the best screamo songs ever. The sheer quality of emotion this band put into their songs is fuckin incredible, and it’s about time they get even more recognition. Hopefully every person who reads this post downloads their music, it will knock you over. We’re jumping on the Harrison Bergeron blog wagon.
When I was in, I think, sophomore or junior year of High School my brother showed me the song “Darkness Washed Over The Dude” by Harrison Bergeron. Needless to say, I played it on repeat for about three months straight. Their sound blew me away and was exactly the type of screamo I wanted to listen to/needed to listen to at the time. After this band broke up (it literally makes me cry I was never able to see them) around 2006, they went on to form Street Smart Cyclist, Boy Problems and Storm the Bastille. Three equally incredible bands. Unfortunately, Harrison Bergeron didn’t have too many recordings. The demo I will be putting up “Dead Bergeron” includes six songs they were able to record, including “Darkness Washed Over The Dude”. Even though it sucks they only have six songs available, they are six of some of the most heavy, powerful, violent mother fucking screamo songs. Heavy and loud guitar tones, groovy slow downs, and group vocals make this one of the best displays of screamo. Once you listen to it the first time through, you will not stop listening to it. Harrison Bergeron gave birth to a beautifully heavy and melodic sound. They deserve every bit of recognition they can get.
